Trimfold Envelopes Celebrate 50 Years in Business

Trimfold Envelopes is the largest manufacturer and supplier of envelopes on the island of Ireland, producing over 600,000,000 envelopes a year. We are based in the heritage town of Trim Co.Meath since 1971. Our customers come from all sectors of business, both public and private sector, including government departments, banks, utilities, pharmaceuticals, design and direct mail companies, greeting card companies and many other customers of all types and sizes.

Our 100,000 sq. ft plant comprises 78,000 sq. ft of manufacturing and 22,000 sq.ft of warehousing and we employ over 60 experienced production staff, ensuring we have the capability to meet any customer request ranging from a few hundred envelopes to several million at a time. An important part of our manufacturing facility is our a dedicated envelope printing department, where we produce printed envelopes for clients ranging from single colour on one side to full colour all over designs. All the paper we use to manufacture our envelopes comes from sustainable sources and our manilla paper is made from 100% post consumer waste. In 2006 Trimfold Envelopes became part of the Mayer Kuvert network, Europe’s largest independently owned envelope manufacturing group. With over 50 plants throughout Europe, the Mayer Kuvert network produces over 45,000,000 envelopes per day and continues to be at the cutting edge of envelope manufacture in Europe.

We celebrated our 50th birthday in July this year – reaching our milestone 50^th birthday on 12^th July 2021 when we had a lovely 50th celebration safely outside in the sunshine for all staff onsite with a huge birthday cake and we raised a glass of alcohol free bubbles to all those who have built the company to where it is today and we marked the event with some new flagpoles and signage at our factory to mark our great milestone.

As a company, Trimfold Envelopes have shown plenty of resilience over the years. As a provider of essential services to government departments and other national organisations we have continued to operate fully through the entire Covid19 pandemic, with all recommended safety precautions in place keeping our employees safe and our customers supplied, and keeping the company going whilst devising, developing and bringing a new product to market during this challenging time.

We used our expertise as envelope manufacturers to develop a product to address the challenges of Covid 19 for the catering and hospitality industry – that product is Sanilope, a sanitized catering pouch that can be used for keeping clean cutlery safe from contamination in catering environments.  Sanilope is Patent Pending in Ireland, UK, Europe and the USA and we also have it Trademarked in those regions. As the developer and manufacturer of Sanilope, we can also manufacture it in other shapes and sizes for other industries to use – eg pharmaceutical, healthcare, equine, hotel keycards etc. We can supply it ex-stock or it can be supplied printed with client branding as required – see www.sanilope.ie for more information and some product videos.

We prepared ourselves very well for the challenges of Brexit as we import and export to and via the UK and our supply chain is crucial to our business. This preparedness has been a large part of our resilience in the past year and a half as we faced the dual challenges of Covid and Brexit. We have also added a large range of ecommerce fulfilment products such as boxes, large padded bags and courier bags to our product ranges during the past 18 months as many Irish businesses went online in order to survive the pandemic, and we ourselves have massively increased our online sales presence during this time, converting as many customers as we can to ordering online when possible.

Interesting times afoot for ourselves and all our colleagues in business in the region as we face the challenges of Covid, rising fuel costs and continuing fallout from Brexit.
