Export Series

Maintaining Ireland’s position as a leading location to conduct supply chain and logistics activities is a key deliverable of this initiative.

The IEA Export Series 2020 is building on the success of the Supply Chain and Markets Network initiatives in supporting exporters on trade compliance and accessing overseas markets opportunities. The Export Series 2020 is in association with Rhenus Logistics Ltd., Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, and media partner Fleet Transport.

In light of changes that Brexit will present and increasing uncertainty for Irish exporters in relation to trading internationally, the IEA sees an opportunity to continue to enhance its offering to its members, provide practical solutions as well as innovative thinking to overcome barriers in the supply chain as well as supporting members to win more international business opportunities. The IEA also sees the importance of bringing awareness on climate change and its impact on its members. Connecting members locally and providing a platform for discussing local issues will also be strongly focused on and feed into IEA policy, through the formation of new working groups and member representation.

The IEA Export Series will consist of:

  • 2 Supply Chain Seminars: 2 large seminars will take place in Dublin, & Cork with case studies from local exporters, experts in industry standards, regulatory and compliance, as well as best practice advice across the supply chain by experts. Each seminar will incorporate critical breakout sessions on trade issues.
  • 2 Markets Network Seminars in Dublin: those seminars will focus on key markets with foreign Ambassadors based in Ireland; case studies from local exporters and expert advice on opportunities in markets looking at sectors, industries, regions, political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, eco-environment and legal considerations.
  • 4 IEA Exporters Roundtables: this is an invitation only meeting for manufacturers to address on some of the larger issues coming out of the seminars and webinars, as well as discussing local issues. They will include but are not limited to national competitiveness, transport & infrastructure, access to talent & skills, Europe – all of which will be discussed in the context of the Supply Chain and used to feed into IEA Policy, training, consultancy services and member representation.
  • 4 IEA Multimodal Working Groups (formerly known as IEA Railfreight Group): Chaired by Howard Knott, these meetings will provide a platform to discuss the importance of multimodal partnering in the supply chain and associated opportunities and challenges.
  • 6 Supply Chain Webinars: These interactive online seminars will look at specific supply chain topics and include guest speakers on: AEO, Trade Finance, Revenue Recognition, Invoice Discounting, Cashflow/Working Capital, Customs Awareness, Union’s Customs Code, Revenue, GDPR, Procurement, Digital Supply Chain & Ireland as a location, Supply Chain Strategy feeding into Business Strategy, Sustainability, Global Supply Chains, Warehousing and Brexit updates.

“Every business, whether an exporter or service provider, an SME or corporate, will have a supply chain. The aim of this initiative is to provide a platform for companies to connect, learn how to manage and protect their business from risks around currency fluctuations, cashflow and working capital management, getting product from the point of origin to the customer, maximising sustainability and ensuring compliance. The IEA is delighted to be working with sponsors Rhenus Logistics, Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, and media partner Fleet Transport again. This is the second year we are collaborating to offer our members and stakeholders up-to-date, informative and specific information through our relationships with Government and State Agencies. Connecting members locally and providing a platform for discussing local issues will also be strongly focused on and feed into IEA policy, training courses, consultancy and member representation.” Simon McKeever, Chief Executive, Irish Exporters Association
