Simon McKeever, Chief Executive, Irish Exporters Association commented: “Ireland’s export industry has been a story of resilience, innovation and success with Irish products and services renowned for their high quality across the globe. For the past 18 years, the Export Industry Awards have been the leading awards ceremony recognising the outstanding achievements of businesses exporting from Ireland. Despite the headwinds in the global trading environment caused by Brexit, the slowing Chinese economy and increased protectionism, according to CSO data, Ireland’s goods exports exceeded €140 billion in 2018, an annual increase of 14.8% – a new record and clear sign that Ireland Inc. and the Irish export industry continue to adapt and punch far above its weight!

We are delighted to once again partner with our platinum sponsors KPMG and Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin for both, the Export Industry Awards and its esteemed Alumni Programme. Under the topical theme of ‘Driving Growth through Global Headwinds’, this years’ Alumni Programme promises to equip participants with the skills and resources to successfully exploit the challenges of trading internationally.”

Marie Armstrong, Partner, KPMG in Ireland commented: “We are delighted to sponsor the Export Industry Awards in 2019.  We have seen the huge benefits the competition can provide to all participants in the competition as it allows them to reflect and gain insights through the judging process on their journey to date. With the strong challenges businesses are facing in an uncertain global trade environment it is so important that we come together to recognise those companies based in Ireland that continue to drive their own export journey or support Irish exporters.  We are looking forward to partnering with the IEA and the other sponsors in making the 2019 award programme a fantastic success for everyone involved.”

Michael Flynn, Director of Executive Education, Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin said: “Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin have joined forces again this year with the Irish Exporters Association and other sponsors in recognition of how important it is to celebrate the successes of Irish based businesses in driving export growth in the face of global economic uncertainty. The Export Industry Awards and Alumni Programme not only showcase export success stories but also provide an important opportunity for businesses to examine best practice in export and export support as well as share in the experiences of business leaders from across Irish industry. We look forward to working with everyone involved in 2019.”
