Inspired by Ireland’s Re-turn bottle recycling scheme, a Hyland team member, Suzanne, proposed an innovative idea: collect used bottles and cans in the office and donate the proceeds to support elderly individuals in the local community. This simple yet powerful initiative quickly gained momentum within the company.

Over the past year, Hyland Shipping staff have consistently collected recyclables in the workplace, with all funds raised going directly to Dublin Home Support. This partnership has already led to several impactful projects, including a thoughtful Easter 2025 campaign. Using the funds raised through recycling, the team organised an Easter egg collection for elderly individuals supported by Dublin Home Support—bringing joy and a personal touch to those who need it most.

This was not the first initiative of its kind. In October 2024, Hyland Shipping used the funds to purchase torches for older residents as the darker evenings set in. Each gesture reflects the company’s mission to deliver more than just freight—it’s about delivering care and support where it matters.
