IEA Submission: Review of National Ports Policy

A revised and updated National Ports Policy will play a crucial role in shaping and managing the development, operation, and regulation of ports within the country, in turn supporting the ongoing success of Irish exporters. This consultation allows the State to develop and outline long-term goals and priorities for the international trade sector – ensuring that port infrastructure aligns with broader national economic and trade objectives.

The opportunity presented with this consultation allows the State to promote a sustainable, efficient, and well-coordinated port development plan that aligns with economic, environmental and transportation objectives. It provides a roadmap for stakeholders, encourages investment, and ensures that ports contribute positively to the overall development of the country.
