Ireland’s export-led economy remains one of the country’s greatest strengths. It has delivered employment, investment, tax revenues and international influence well beyond what might be expected from an economy of Ireland’s size.
However, the environment facing exporters has changed fundamentally. Geopolitical instability, protectionism, supply-chain disruption, energy volatility, regulatory complexity and intense competition for talent and investment are now structural features of international trade.
