Shang Ji Ireland Magazine in association with IEA – Promoting Ireland & Irish Businesses to China & Hong Kong

As one of the world’s dominant economic powers, the desire for Irish goods has surged among China’s growing affluent middle class.

With a population of 1.4 billion people and a GDP of over €12 trillion, China is already the world’s largest economy by GDP purchasing power parity and is expected to overtake the US to become the leading global power centre within the next 10 years.  With the recently launched direct flights to Dublin from Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific, and from Beijing and Shenzhen by Hainan Airlines, these figures are set to grow significantly.

A vast and rapidly expanding market — for everything from cheese to gin, beef to seafood, pork to whiskey, baby food to clothing, contact lenses to hearing aids, heart stents to artificial hips and aircraft parts to computer parts — has resulted in Irish exports to China vastly increasing over the past few years.

China is now the 8th largest overall export market for Irish goods and is expected to be one of Ireland’s top 5 export markets by 2030.

With the uncertainty around Brexit and current global trade tensions, it has never been more important for Irish businesses to expand their reach.

Irish Exporters Association are helping to promote Ireland China business relations in association with www.BusinessinChina.ie who are publishing Shang Ji Ireland magazine.

Shang Ji Ireland (meaning business opportunities with Ireland) is the only magazine written and published in Chinese, in print and digital formats, promoting Irish business to China and opportunities in Ireland to Chinese businesses.

Launching in September 2019, the key objective of this premium magazine, which is being distributed directly across China and Hong Kong, is to introduce and promote Ireland to Chinese business executives, highlighting some of our key industry sectors of relevance to China.

More specifically, the magazine will showcase leading Irish businesses and Irish SME’s already doing business with China and looking to expand in China.  It will help develop introductions and promote trade between Irish and Chinese companies and business executives.

Shang Ji Ireland magazine is a very timely and welcome initiative to help Ireland and Irish companies promote to China.
