SEAI Energy Academy
Over the coming years, Ireland must use less energy, move to clean energy, and innovate to create new solutions to meet our energy needs. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is here to help you start on your energy efficiency journey by helping you identify energy saving opportunities, implement energy saving changes, and lead your organisations shift to energy efficiency.
Free Online Learning with SEAI’s Energy Academy
One way to start your energy efficiency journey is through our new online learning platform. SEAI’s Energy Academy offers free courses on a variety of energy and climate related topics. These courses have been designed especially for Irish businesses. Modules on the platform available on all operating systems and are quick and easy to complete. They are designed to teach you and your staff about reducing energy use and tackling climate action in your workplace. Learners can achieve a Certificate of Completion which demonstrates your company’s commitment to educating staff about energy and can be displayed at your premises. These courses are also a great way of engaging, upskilling and retaining staff.

Large Industry Energy Network
Ireland’s biggest energy users made €12.4 million in savings through energy efficiency in 2018. SEAI’s Large Industry Energy Network is a network of 190 members who have over €1 million in annual energy bills and are committed to reducing energy use across their business. Network members include; Kerry Group, Diageo, Pfizer, Astellas Ireland, Google, Microsoft, and GlaxoSmithKine (GSK).
40% of the network members are certified to the international energy management standard of ISO 50001.
Some of the benefits of the network membership include:
- Access to energy expertise
- Working groups to learn from others or share experiences
- Training and best practice towards robust energy management
