IEA event highlights United States export opportunities

H.E. Edward F. Crawford speaks at IEA event on exporting to U.S.A

Dublin, 24 September 2019: The Irish Exporters Association, in coordination with the United States Embassy to Ireland, this morning hosted a high-level event on U.S. investment opportunities for Irish exporters. The IEA’s Markets Networks initiative supports exporters in exploring overseas market opportunities and provides them with the know-how to successfully exploit new business opportunities.

Opening the Seminar, Simon McKeever, Chief Executive of the Irish Exporters Association, commented: “We are delighted to be joined this morning by the new United States Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Edward F. Crawford. Ireland’s bilateral relationship with the United States is among the strongest in the International community. 

Ireland has long been, and will remain, an important strategic access point for U.S. companies to the European Union and its more than 500 million consumers. Over the past number of decades, the Irish economy has majorly benefited from U.S. inward investment, yet huge businesses opportunities exist for Irish companies in the United States.

Ireland and the Irish export community is facing significant challenges through Brexit and a slowing global economy. In response, according to our internal research, the United States consistently headline the list of potential new export markets for companies looking to diversify away from the United Kingdom.”

It is the connecting force for Irish exporters, providing practical knowledge and support across the Island of Ireland and in foreign markets.
