Applied Customs Training for Agrifoods 1 & 2

The Applied Customs Training for Agrifoods 1 & 2 courses are divided into two full-days covering the practical steps required to import and export a broad range of agrifood products. Through process flows, case studies, demonstrations, video tutorials and questions and answer sessions, these courses cover in detail what the necessary steps are to import and export agrifood products for each stakeholder in the supply chain.

The two workshops can be booked separately or together as a bundle. Attendees will receive take away course materials including step-by-step guides, written materials and video tutorials.

  •  EU SPS Import Controls
  • How to categorise agrifood products
  • What general controls apply to different product categories on imports
  • Process requirements for each category of product
  • How to determine if a product is a composite product
  • Which government agencies to register and liaise with
  • Factors to consider when appointing operator responsible for consignment
  • Pre-notification systems in Ireland
  • Export Controls Ireland

 

Applied Customs Training – Agrifoods 2 Modules:

  • Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) Imports Portal (INIS)
  • How to use INIS to upload documentation demonstration
  • Registering for Traces
  • Using the Traces system to create Common Health Entry Documents to pre-notify DAFM
  • Demonstration of each the following types of CHED’s
    • CHED P (products of animal origin)
    • CHED PP (Plants and plant products)
    • CHED D (foods and feed of non-animal origin subject to increased controls)
  • UK phased approach
  • UK pre-notification system (IPAFFS)
  • Overview on how to use the UK’s Import of Products, Animals, Food and Feed System (IPAFFS)

By the end of the course participants will be familiar with:

  • How to become a registered user on INIS (Imports Portal)
  • How to upload documentation on INIS
  • How to register on Traces
  • How to create Common Health Entry documents on Traces
  • UK Import controls
  • The UK pre-notification system (IPAFFS)
  • How to register for IPAFFS
