Essential Customs | National Brexit Series | 6th Nov 2020
There is still time to plan and prepare your business for Brexit. This is a proactive, informative practical seminar designed to assist and minimise your risk exposure.
The Brexit transition period ends on 31st December, with full customs operating between Ireland and the UK with effect from 1st January 2021. Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s statement on 16th October strengthens the possibility that no deal will be agreed in time, so we must prepare for possible tariffs on goods, restrictions on services, and uncertainty for businesses in Northern Ireland.
Faced with these challenges, Irish business is under-prepared in the view of many, including Revenue. To help address this problem, the Irish Exporters Association started its Brexit series of seminars in February 2020, and while Covid-19 turned everyone’s attention away for much of this year, we continued up to July. Now, as the challenge comes nearer, the need to ensure that decision-makers are fully informed and equipped is more urgent than ever.
Due to popular demand, we are continuing the series in partnership with Tony Buckley, retaining the interactive and informal approach. The 3-hour seminar on 6th November will focus on case studies and responses to questions, including advice, examples and reference material.
We will continue with this responsive approach, which directly addresses the real concerns of participants. We will be covering:
Processes of Trading post-Brexit
- Customs authorisations and simplifications
- Use of customs transit
- The role of warehousing
- Assembling the information for customs declarations
