Irish Exporters Association appoints Patrick Joy, founder of Suretank and Entrepreneur, as 2022 President

Dublin, 06 January 2022: The Irish Exporters Association (IEA) is delighted to announce that Patrick Joy, founder and director of Suretank Group and 2013 Irish EY Entrepreneur of the Year will preside over the Association in 2022. Patrick, a valued and active member of the IEA’s National Council since 2014, brings substantial amounts of experience and expertise to the Presidency of the IEA. With his decades of experience in business, entrepreneurship, and international trade, Patrick understands better than most the challenges faced by importers and exporters alike across Ireland and Europe and how to address them.

Irish Exporters Association Chief Executive, Simon McKeever commented: “I could not be more delighted that Patrick will be presiding over the Irish Exporters Association in 2022. Patrick has been actively involved in the IEA’s National Council for nearly 8 years. He represents not only Suretank, but also the broader Irish manufacturing sector. I have had the privilege to work with him for a number of years and I have always been very impressed by his expansive skillset, his business know-how, and his work ethic. I am certain Patrick will do an outstanding job representing the interests of Irish businesses throughout his Presidency.

The past year has been quite a challenge for everyone, but 2022 shows a lot of promise. The IEA is growing and innovating, working hard to develop new solutions to assist our members face the on-going COVID-19 crisis, the ramifications of Brexit, the transition towards more sustainable trade and investment, trade compliance, and more, and I have no doubt that Patrick will be an excellent President during this busy year for trade in Ireland.

As President, I will work hard to ensure that the IEA continues to support and assist Irish exporters at a regional, national, and European level. We have a very ambitious year ahead, in which COVID-19, Brexit and sustainable trade and investment will be at the heart of our work on behalf of IEA members.”
