Barry Cullen, Silver Hill Duck, appointed as the 2021 President of the Irish Exporters Association

The Irish Exporters Association (IEA) is delighted to announce that Barry Cullen, Head of Sales for Silver Hill Duck will preside over the Association this year. Barry, a valued and active member of the IEA’s National Council since 2018, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Presidency of the IEA.

Living and working in the border region, Barry knows the implications that Brexit has on exporters and importers alike, particularly in the agri-food sector. Barry also chairs the Association’s Border-Midlands Network Group in which he regularly brings exporters in the region together, on an online platform, to discuss common challenges, particularly Brexit.

 Irish Exporters Association Chief Executive, Simon McKeever commented: “We are very pleased that Barry will preside over the Irish Exporters Association, which marks its 70^th anniversary this year. Barry is a valued member of the IEA National Council, in which he represents both Silver Hill Duck and the broader agri-food sector, as well as the Border-Midlands area. I have worked with Barry for some years and have been very impressed by his knowledge and commitment. I have no doubt that Barry will continue to work on behalf of exporters during his time as President.

 This year is an exciting year for the Association. As we mark our 70^th anniversary in May, the work and mission of the IEA has never been so relevant. COVID-19, Brexit, market diversification, sustainable trade and investment and trade compliance will guide our work on behalf of our members and I have no doubt that Barry will serve as an excellent President, in what will be a very busy year for trade in and out of Ireland.”

As President, I will work to ensure that the IEA continues to work at regional, national and EU level to shape a regulatory and legislative framework that supports and fosters Irish exports. We have a very ambitious year ahead, in which COVID-19, Brexit and sustainable trade and investment will be at the heart of our work on behalf of IEA members.”
