Consultation on the NCC Competitiveness Framework
The National Competitiveness Council (NCC) reports to the Taoiseach and Government on key competitiveness issues facing the Irish economy and offers recommendations on policy actions required to enhance Ireland’s competitive position. Defining and understanding “competitiveness”, its determinants and methods of measurement are, therefore, crucial to the work of the Council.
The NCC sought observations regarding the continued evolution of its competitiveness framework in April 2016. In particular, the Council was interested in views as to the strengths and weaknesses of its current approach. The Review of Competitiveness Frameworks and information on the consultation itself are available at the following links:
The IEA, as the voice of the export industry in Ireland, made a submission addressing concerns that we believe should be taken under consideration in these deliberations. To view the IEA submission document, please click here.
