What are the objectives

The Code of Good Distribution Practice for Life Sciences Products was formally launched in October 2009 at a reception in Dublin with the Irish Medicines Board and industry. Since 2007, the IEA had been working with the Global Life Sciences manufacturers based in Ireland, the Irish Medicines Board and the Logistics companies servicing the market to develop a voluntary Code of Good Distribution Practice for the sector. This GDP Code of practice with its compliant and certified courses is the outcome of this collaborative work between regulators and industry. With the increasing complexity along the supply chain, the Irish Exporters Association acts as facilitator between the manufacturer, service provider and major transport hubs (air, road and sea) to promote the GDP Code. The GDP Passport is the 1st Code of Practice Globally for GDP and has the full support of the HPRA.
